A 3:32 second explosion early in the second period sent the Brooks Bandits on their way to a 7-0 victory over the Lloydminster Bobcats at the Centennial Regional Arena.
Following a scoreless and even first period, the Bandits came up with three goals early in the middle frame to jump out in front of Lloydminster 3-0.
Jake Theis, Matt Cassidy and Liam Lytton were all able to beat Bobcats goalie Liam McCloskey, who, despite the stat line made many big saves while the game was still in reach.
With just under four minutes left to play in the second period, the Bandits found the back of the net again as Orca Wiesblatt found he back of the net on the power play.
The Bandits kept the pressure on Lloydminster in the final twenty minutes as well.
Goals from Conner Jean, Dennis Cesana and a second from Lytton rounded out the 7-0 final.
The Bobcats did have their chances to beat Bandits starting goalie Mitch Benson, however, Benson stood tall all night long.
Benson turned aside two partial breakaways, a 3-on-1, 2-on-1 and many more opportunities throughout the game.
The final shots finished 37-22 in favour of Brooks.
The Bandits went 3 for 5 on the power-play, while the Bobcats finished 0-3. Although, one of the Bobcats power-play chances came with just 8 second to play in the game.
Now 4-12 on the season, the Bobcats will resume their season Thursday night in Calgary against the Mustangs.
