Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats will be auctioning off the specialty jerseys worn during Hockey Hooky game this season to Benefit Peyton Walker who is battling Rhabdomysosarcoma cancer.
The jerseys which will be worn will be designed by local youth a part of the Richardsons Jewellery contest, which allows creativity and local youth to submit their design.
Peyton will be going through about 67 weeks of treatment which is long, extensive, and many trips to Edmonton and the Stollery but to be cancer free at the end is the goal! Currently she is in week 5 of treatment. She went through her first 5 day stretch last week and although grueling, Peyton continues to maintain a positive and never give up attitude that we can attribute to her hockey playing but also because of the enormous amount of support she has received. It truly helps and we can’t thank everyone enough for the love and support – Walker Family.
The Lloydminster Bobcats will be donating the proceeds from the specialty jersey auction to the Walker Family! “As a community team it is our responsibility to help where we can, being on the ice with Peyton for skills through the season she is someone who loves the game, works hard, and makes the people around her better every day. It is an opportunity for our organization to give back within the local hockey world and we look forward to seeing her back on the ice with the Steelers” stated Bobcats General Manager Nigel Dube.
