Lloydminster, AB- The Lloydminster Bobcats have completed another transaction in what has been a complete overhaul of the roster leading into camp at the end of August. The Bobcats have acquired Tyler Schendel from the Camrose Kodiaks in exchange for Josh Lester. Lester was a part of a future considerations deal and came to the Bobcats on June 1. Schendel has played two seasons for the Camrose Kodiaks and will be entering his third year in the league as a 19-year-old. He has posted 42 points during his time there but the connection to Lloydminster goes beyond points as Bobcats now Head Coach and General Manager Nigel Dube was behind the bench while Schendel broke into the league as a 17-year-old. ?We are very excited to welcome Tyler and the entire Schendel family to the Bobcats organization. When an opportunity to acquire a player like Tyler it was a move we pushed hard for. Tyler will be a key player in our leadership group, he will also be looked upon to contribute toc the offensive front? commented Dube. Schendel, along with current Bobcats forward Breydon Berthold played for the Leduc Oil Kings who went to the National Tournament in Prince George. ?We are getting a player who has multiple years? experience in the AJHL, played for a National Championship, and has worked in the trenches. He?s an honest player and we know what we are going to get out of him every night? added Dube.
