Bobcats Bring Diamond Back to Lloydminster

A familiar face is returning to the Lloydminster Bobcats.

Earlier today, the Bobcats acquired goaltender Pierce Diamond (98) from the Calgary Canucks in exchange for future considerations.

Diamond originally began his AJHL career with the Lloydminster Bobcats during the 2015-16 season when the team finished second at the RBC Cup.

Playing last season in Whitecourt, Diamond sparkled with the Wolverines finishing the 2016-17 regular season with 27-6-4 record, a 2.24GAA and a .906 save percentage.

The 5’10”, 178lbs goalie was then shipped to the Calgary Canucks prior to the 2017-18 season, where he had played in four games.

Diamond comes back to Lloydminster with a 41-12-4 record, 2.39GAA and a .901 save percentage during his 62 game AJHL career.

“We are very excited to have Pierce join our team,” said Bobcats Head Coach and GM Travis Clayton. “Being able to acquire a player with the experience and track record Pierce has is only going to help our team moving forward. He has been very successful in this league and we’re just happy to be able to have him back in orange and black.”

Diamond is expected to be with the Bobcats Wednesday night when they visit the Spruce Grove Saints.
