Bobcats Ink Bygrove

Lloydminster, AB – Just after a week of announcing that the Lloydminster Bobcats have signed Jayven Leslie for the 2019-20 season to a Letter of Intent, they now have made the second local signing official. Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Nigel Dube did not go far for this one as he has signed local Lloydminster Minor Hockey product Ben Bygrove to a Letter of Intent. Bygrove has played in 11 games this season with the Lloydminster Bandits Midget AAA Bobcats and has recorded 3 points while racking up 22 penalty minutes. He has also suited up in two games this season for the Bobcats in early January on a northern road trip.

“Ben is an important piece to our defensive core for next season, he plays a very structured defensive game and plays very big. His character as a person and how he is a team first player is what we are looking for in our players.” Said Dube. The 2002 born defenseman has been a respected leader on his teams through minor hockey in Lloydminster. “We have many very good hockey players up and coming in our community and I have stated from day one we want to be the place where they want to play, Ben’s dedication to the game and values of wanting to be a role model in the community and to his peers is the expectations of our players,” continued Dube.

Bygrove will suit up with the Bobcats tomorrow night as they take on the Grande Prairie Storm at 7:30PM. Do not forget it is Fan Appreciation month which includes reduced game ticket prices, discounted concessions, free perks for season tickets and a chance to buy a ticket to Chace the Ace!
