Bobcats Make Two Moves on Deadline Day

Prior to the Canadian Junior Hockey League trade deadline on Sunday night, the Lloydminster Bobcats made a pair of moves to bolster the lineup.

First, the team acquired ’96 defenceman Griffin Mumby from the Canmore Eagles in exchange for future considerations.

Mumby is in his second season with Canmore after spending two full seasons with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Calgary native has two goals and two assists for four points this year in 25 games played, after compiling 23 points in 51 games a year ago. In his two seasons with the Pats, Mumby appeared in a total of 106 games played, accumulating one goal and seven assists. The 6’0”, 190 lb blue liner was also selected to Team Canada West at the 2014 World Jr. A Challenge in Kindersley, SK, where he was chosen as an alternate captain.

Hours later, the Bobcats acquired ’95 F Ryan Chynoweth from the Drumheller Dragons in exchange for ’96 F Evan Tschumi and future considerations.

Chynoweth spent the last four seasons in the WHL, playing with first the Everett Silvertips (Drafted #24 overall, 2010) and later with the Tri-City Americans and Kootenay Ice.  In his first year in the AJHL, the 6’1”, 180 lb left wing has posted 19 goals and 14 assists for 33 points in 35 games played. Throughout his WHL career, the Cranbrook, BC native compiled 12 goals and 27 assists for 39 points in 218 games.

Tschumi has been a part of the Bobcats organizations for three seasons, starting as an affiliated player in his 16 year-old year. The Calgary native has appeared in 93 regular season games with the Bobcats, producing 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points in that span.

The Bobcats would like to thank Evan and his family for their commitment to the organization, and all their contributions over the past three years.
