Bobcats Name Leadership Group for 2017-18 Season

With the 2017-18 Regular Season just one day away, the Lloydminster Bobcats have announced their leadership group for the upcoming season.

For the second straight season it will be Connor Odelein wearing the ‘C’ for the Bobcats. The Quill Lake, SK native is the longest tenured Bobcat on the 2017-18 roster as he enters his third season with the team.

The Bobcats will have four assistant captains this year. Lloydminster products Kobe Walker and Daniel Hilsendager will each wear an ‘A’, along with Chasetan Braid and Andrew McCann.

Walker led the team in scoring last season, while Hilsendager has been creating plenty of buzz heading into his NHL Draft season.

Braid was one of three assistant captains last season and will continue in that role this season.

McCann, a 20-year old defenceman will have the honour of wearing an ‘A’ in his first season with the Bobcats. The Calgary native spent last season playing with the Kindersley Klippers of the SJHL.

“These five players have all showed the ability to lead our team both on and off the ice,” said Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Travis Clayton. “They all have plenty of experience in Junior Hockey and they’ll be able to use that experience to help get us where we want to go.”

The Bobcats begin their run towards the Inter Pipeline AJHL Playoffs Friday night when they host the Bonnyville Pontiacs. Get your tickets by calling the office at 780-871-0900 or visiting https://tickets.lloydminsterbobcats.ca/.
