Lloydminster, AB ? The Lloydminster Bobcats organization is excited to announce the signing of Eden Prairie High School Eagles stand-out goalie Axel Rosenlund. The Minnesota native, who stands at six feet one inch played in 16 regular season games where he had a goals against average of 2.34 and a save percentage of .911. Rosenlund was a huge part of the team?s playoff success as Minnesota High School State finalists, where they fell just short of winning the prestigious Minnesota State Hockey Tournament. Aside from his impressive season with the Eagles he also suited up in the Minnesota High Performance league where he played 3 games, bolstering 2.67 goals against and a .902 save percentage.
?Axel was a goalie we identified early in the season with our American scouting staff; he is a great skater and has the size we were looking for in the blue paint. I had the opportunity to watch him with our American Scouting Director Cory Lonke at the Minnesota State tourney this year. He was very composed and showed his maturity playing in front of 18,000 people at the Excel Center. In doing our research and talking to the family, we felt it was a perfect fit for what we are building on in the Border City!? stated Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Nigel Dube.
The Bobcats organization would like to welcome the Rosenlund family to the Border City and are excited for when hockey can get started again!
