Bobcats Sign Two Forwards

Bobcats Sign Two Forwards for the 2017-18 Season

The Lloydminster Bobcats have announced the signing of forwards Michael MacLean and Leyson Coleman for the 2017-18 season.

MacLean (Penticton, BC) is a 1998-born forward who played 36 games last season with the Summerland Steam of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League, and three games with the Langley Riverman of the British Columbia Hockey League. While playing with Summerland, the 6’4”, 220 lb forward scored six goals and had nine assists with 187 penalty minutes.

MacLean is looking forward to joining the Bobcats, “I've heard great things about the Bobcats organization and i'm excited to be a part of the upcoming season.”

“We are excited to add a player like MacLean to the team,” said Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Travis Clayton.  “With his size and skating ability, he will be able to create room for both himself and the rest of the team on the ice.”

Coleman (Fort Saskatchewan, AB) is a 1999-born forward who played 36 games with the Knights of Columbus Pats Midget AAA team in the 2016-17 season.  During those games, the 5’ 11”, 154 lb forward managed eight goals and seven assists.  He also played in two games with the Whitecourt Wolverines of the AJHL.

Coleman on his decision to join the Bobcats, “I decided to come to Lloydminster because of the great program that Lloyd has for their players and the large amount of support the club gets from the community.”

“Coleman is another big body that will be an asset to the team,” says Clayton. “He is going to crash and bang out on the ice and we are expecting big things from him.”
