Bobcats Hire Matt Brassard as Assistant Coach

Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats are thrilled to announce the hiring of Matt Brassard as Assistant Coach!

A former Vancouver Canuck draft pick will join the Bobcats after an extensive playing career in the Ontario Hockey League, USports, and the ECHL. During his playing career, the defenseman played in a total of 249 games in the OHL and 61 games in USports with the University of Prince Edward Island.

Brassard is excited to join the Border City, “I am thrilled to be joining the Lloydminster Bobcats organization. I can’t wait to get to work with Head Coach Jeff Woywitka, General Manager Nigel Dube, all the players and the community of Lloydminster. I am a big fan of the junior hockey level and can’t wait to help develop our players and have great team success in the process.”

The Lloydminster Bobcats are excited to be adding Brassard to the coaching staff, “we are very excited to welcome Matt to the Border City and the organization. Regular season for the Bobcats will open on September 13th against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the last full season at the Centennial Civic Centre! Season tickets are on sale for the 2024-25 season today!
