Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats organization is proud to announce General Manager Nigel Dube has once again been named the Director of Operations for the 2024 World Junior A Challenge for Team Canada West and will defend gold at the tournament in Camrose, Alberta.
The coaching staff will be made up of Head Coach Mike Reagan (Flin Flon/ SJHL), Assistant Coaches Eric Labrosse (Northern Manitoba/ MJHL), Shawn Martin (Whitecourt Wolverines/ AJHL), and Carter Hansen (Humboldt/ SJHL). Team Canada West has won gold five times (2006, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2017,2023), silver three times (2008, 2009, 2012) and bronze twice (2013, 2018).
The Lloydminster Bobcats are excited for Dube to take the position again and guide Team Canada West in defending gold, “As an organization and community, we are very excited for Nigel and this opportunity with Team Canada West. We have seen first-hand the pride and passion he puts into everything over the last 7 season here, he will work around the clock and put everything he has into it, every day. He will represent our organization, league, and more importantly be proud to represent our community at this level” commented Lloydminster Bobcats President Brent Mohrbutter.
Dube is excited for another opportunity, “it wasn’t something that was on the radar, but it was an honor to be asked to come back. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent our country and community, also very fortunate to have a support group and family which allows me to do these events!”
