Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats organization is ecstatic to announce Jamie Weller as the Team’s Captain for the 2024-25 season!
“Being named captain of the Bobcats is a great honor and privilege! I’m excited for the upcoming season and the continued support from our awesome community” stated the newly appointed Captain. Weller, a product of Calgary, AB was acquired from the Okotoks Oilers on October 6th of 2023. In 34 games with the Bobcats this season he tallied 3 goals and 13 assists while adding 63 penalty minutes in 34 games. The veteran defenseman has played a total of 169 games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League and will be entering his final season this fall.
Lloydminster Bobcats Head Coach Jeff Woywitka is excited for the new captain, “Weller is an ultimate competitor who puts the team first and foremost and someone we want to lead our group and continue to build our program!”
Weller will join a list of true leaders from past seasons in the black and orange, Caden Cabana (2023-24), Ben Bygrove (2022-23), Chad MacLean(2021-22), Gunner Kinniburgh(2020-21).
