Captain Springer Traded To Brooks

The Lloydminster Bobcats have traded 1994 born Defencemen Linden Springer to the Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in exchange for 1995 born Defencemen Shane Switzer and future considerations.

Springer, a Lloydminster local, was in his third season with the Bobcats and Captain for his home town team. Entering his final season of junior eligibility, Springer has played some of his best hockey, currently leading all defencemen in goals and tied for points by Defencemen in the AJHL. Through 38 games this year, Springer notched 14 goals (5 on the power play), 17 assists and 31 points. Springer joined the organization in the 2012-2013 season as an 18 year old after a season with the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Prince George Cougars. Springer has suited up in 128 games as a Bobcat on the backend, which has seen him produce 27 goals, 40 assist for 67 points along with 575 penalty minutes.

In return the Bobcats get back 19 year old Defencemen Shane Switzer. Hailing from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, he is in his first season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Switzer has suited up for 35 games, recording 6 goals, 12 assists, for 18 points along with 23 penalty minutes. A big body, at 6 foot 2 and 200 pounds, played last year in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) at the Major Midget level where he recorded 6 goals, 15 assists for 21 points in 36 games played. The Bobcats would like to welcome Shane to the organization!

The Bobcats would like to thank Linden and his family for all their contributions to the Bobcats Organization over the past 3 years and wish Linden all the best with Brooks and his future aspirations.
