CBC Hockey Day In Canada in Lloydminster postponed to 2014

It looks like our players will have to wait a year to meet Don Cherry!

The City of Lloydminster and CBC announced last week that Scotiabank Hockey Day In Canada in Lloydminster has been postponed to 2014.  We plan to host a feature AJHL game on the 2014 date, and Bobcats season ticket holders will once again be guaranteed their seat at this game as part of their 2013-14 season ticket package.

For our fans, this announcement means that our regular season game on Saturday, February 9th, 2013, against the Bonnyville Pontiacs has been moved back to its regular time of 7:30 PM. While CBC will no longer be in attendance, we still plan to feature many promotional fun-filled activities for our fans throughout the game, including an autograph session with members of the Canadian Women Hockey League’s (CWHL) Team Alberta. Many members of this team are former Olympic medallists.

The CWHL will be in town for two game between Team Alberta and the Montreal Stars. The first game takes place the afternoon of Saturday, February 9th at 3:00 PM prior to our home game, and the second game takes place the afternoon of Sunday, February 10th at 1:00 PM. Tickets to both games will be for sale in the main Civic Centre lobby during our two upcoming home games this Saturday, Jan. 19th and Tuesday, Jan 22nd, both against the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

The City of Lloydminster is still planning on hosting a Winterfest event on Saturday, February 9th from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Servus Sports Centre. For more information on this event, please visit http://www.lloydminster.ca .
