Chasetan Braid returning to Lloydminster

The Lloydminster Bobcats have completed a trade with the Bonnyville Pontiacs for (F) Chasetan Braid in exchange for future considerations.

“Any time you can add a 19-year-old with his skill and work ethic to your team, its definitely a positive. He is going to be a great addition to our team,” said Head Coach Travis Clayton.

Braid is a native of Chauvin Alberta, (located less than an hour south of Lloydminster) and will be no stranger to the Centennial Civic Center, having played for the Bantam AAA Heat, Minor Midget AAA Rage and Midget AAA Bobcats.

The ‘97 born forward spent the entire 2014-15 season with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League before being traded to the Kamloops blazers at the start of last season. Braid would eventually wind-up in Bonnyville where he finished the season with the Pontiacs. While there, Braid saw action in 31 AJHL games, netting two goals and five assists for 7 points.

“Braid will add a lot of experience for us up-front and can also play defence, we are expecting big things from him,” said Clayton.
