GAME DAY: Bobcats Pay First Visit of the Season to the RJ

For the second straight game, the Lloydminster Bobcats (6-19-1) will be squaring off with the Bonnyville Pontiacs (21-5-2), this time though from the RJ Lalonde Arena in Bonnyville. Wednesday night will mark the first time this season that the Bobcats have travelled to Bonnyville, despite the Yaks having already visited the Centennial Civic Centre three times. All the action can be heard live on Real Country 95.9 beginning at 7:15.

Heading In: North Division Leading Pontiacs Skate Past Bobcats

Stung by a four straight goals, the Lloydminster Bobcats were unable to get the better of the Bonnyville Pontiacs Saturday night at the Civic Centre. The Pontiacs completed the three-game road sweep of the Cats with a 4-1 win. In the loss, Bobcat’s rookie defenceman Mason Waite scored his third goal of the season. Meanwhile, netminder Curtis Meger made 41 saves on 45 shots in the contest.

Head to Head

Half way through the season series, the Bonnyville Pontiacs have managed to find themselves on the winning end in each of the first three meetings with Lloydminster, despite all three taking place in the Border City. In a back and forth affair, the Yaks defeated the Cats 5-4 in their first meeting, before winning the next two games by three goals each, 3-0 and 4-1. Lloydminster will hope the change of scenery will work in their favour on Wednesday.

Tough November Concludes on Wednesday

A very tough month of November on ice and off ice is about to come to an end on Wednesday. Facing teams with a combined record of 168-111-18, the Cats have had plenty of tough foes on the ice, meanwhile, off the ice, a midseason coaching change also added to a crazy November. With all of that settled in the past now though, the Bobcats will look to end the eleventh month of the calendar year in style by taking down the Viterra North Division leading Pontiacs in their home barn. Which certainly could be a major momentum boost towards a strong December.
