Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Junior A Bobcats and Boundary Ford, through the Boundary Ford Gives Foundation are excited to announce every time the Bobcats score a goal, Boundary Ford Gives will donate $50 to the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre as part of Give N’ Goals. Last season the goals scored by the Bobcats players saw the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre receive $10,000!
The Bobcats players began meeting with Boundary Ford Marketing Manager Carly Pollard at the beginning of each season to go over the structure of the initiative, the recipient, and a goal for the team to work towards obtaining. This season the team will be able to double the total by reaching 200 goals scored in all games played. “This year Boundary Ford Gives is excited to announce that we will be giving $50 per goal throughout the season, with the chance to double the total amount if the Bobcats reach 200 goals. Once again the Bobcats have chosen the Community Youth Centre as their 2022 recipient of Give N Goals” stated Pollard.
The Lloydminster Bobcats organization takes pride in being active in the community on a daily basis and strives to making the community we live in a better place, which are the same values Boundary Ford and Boundary Ford Gives strives towards. “The Bobcats team is an excellent candidate to partner up with as through meeting with the team and explaining the challenge for the season, you can quickly see that both the Bobcats and Boundary Ford Gives share the same vision when it comes to giving back to this community.” added Pollard.
The partnership has extra meaning to both organizations as the late Bob Troup was the leader behind the initiative originally. Troup was both a former longtime employee of Boundary Ford and a board member of the Bobcats. “It is important for our players to understand the impact they can have in our community; we have many local players on our team who really want to make a difference both on the ice and more importantly in the community. Boundary Ford Gives cares about the community, they do many initiatives in the community with different organizations but never seek attention for it. We are grateful for our shared vision and for what they do in the community” added Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Nigel Dube.
The community importance will continue to be at the forefront of the initiative and the Bobcats are excited to work towards something much larger than the game of hockey every night. “This team has a lot of heart, and that was evident through their reaction to our partnership that they are and continue to be an integral part of this community” finished Pollard.
