The Lloydminster Bobcats have traded ’95 goaltender Christopher Tai to the British Columbia Hockey League’s (BCHL) Alberni Valley Bulldogs in exchange for future considerations.
The 20 year-old net minder appeared in 36 games for the BCHL’s Coquitlam Express last season, posting a record of 19-14-1 to go with a 3.70 Goals Against Average (GAA) and an .899 Save Percentage (Pct.). In 2013-14, Tai played in seven regular season games with the Bobcats after returning from the Western Hockey League, posting four wins and three losses while maintaining a 2.24 GAA and a .911 Pct. That same season, Tai backstopped the Bobcats through ten postseason games, with six wins and four losses, posting a 2.29 GAA and a 0.919 Pct.
Tai had been reacquired from the Express on June 1st, 2015 to complete a previous trade for future considerations.
The Bobcats season is fast approaching, with training camp opening on August 21st at the Centennial Civic Centre. Fans are invited to catch their first taste of game action at the annual intra-squad game on Monday, August 24th at 7:30PM.
