Greg Moro Commits to Clarkson University

The Lloydminster Bobcats are thrilled to announce that 1995-born defenceman Greg Moro has committed to Clarkson University to compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Hockey beginning in the 2016-17 season.

“I’m proud to announce my commitment to Clarkson University. I would like to thank all the people who have helped me over the past couple years from all my coaches and mentors to the players who I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know over the course of my junior career,” said Moro. “It’s been a great experience and I’m grateful to be able to continue playing hockey at a high level while getting my education.”

Appearing in 23 regular season games with the Bobcats, Moro accumulated nine points on nine assists this year. The Edmonton, AB native’s rate of production has increased in the playoffs, with two goals and two assists for four points in five games to date. Prior to being acquired by the Bobcats on November 30th, 2015, Moro spent the majority of his junior career with the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), scoring 11 goals to go with 37 assists for 48 points in 128 games spread over three seasons.

“Greg has come into our dressing room this year and shown that he is a great leader, setting an excellent example for all of our players,” said Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Gord Thibodeau. “He has brought physicality and tenacity to our defence, and has helped to make our team tougher to play against. We are very pleased for Greg and his family to receive this well-deserved opportunity.”

Clarkson University is located in the community of Potsdam in northern New York State, where the Golden Knights men’s hockey team competes in the ECAC Hockey conference.
