Hassan Akl Commits to Aurora University

Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats are thrilled to announce Hassan Akl has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey with Aurora University.

“Hassan was a very impactful offensive acquisition at the trade deadline this year and he made an immediate impact on our offensive group,” stated Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Nigel Dube. Akl would have an instant impact on the special team’s side as the Bobcats powerplay moved to sixth in the league to finish the regular season, “he was able to create and make plays offensively which set up some really nice goals in the second half. His hockey IQ is elite, and the Aurora fans are going to enjoy watching him!” finished Dube.

In 20 games following the January 10th trade deadline with the Bobcats Akl posted 3 goals and 19 assists. In 134 games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, he posted 30 goals and 72 assists for 102 total points!

The Lloydminster Bobcats would like to congratulate the Akl family on his commitment to the Aurora University. Akl becomes the fifth commitment this season for the Bobcats joining Ethan Aucoin (St. Cloud State), Tegan Skehar (University of Alaska Fairbanks), Kolby Thornton (Aurora University) and Zafir Rawji (MRU – Usport). Akl becomes the Lloydminster Bobcats 11th commitment in the last two seasons.
