Cliff Rose for Clothes in downtown Lloydminster partners with the Bobcats each month of the season to reward a community ambassador. Players selected are done so based on the efforts and examples they put forth off the ice.
For the month of February the Bobcats and Cliff Rose for Clothes are pleased to announce rookie forward Jayven Leslie as the final Community Ambassador for the 2019/20 season. As a 16 year old Jayven has carried himself in a very mature fashion. He has been actively involved in community events and school visits when he’s able and not busy with his own school work. Jayven has balanced a heavy academic schedule working on his grade 11 in the LPSD. Jayven has maintained an exemplary grade average while continuing to grow as a hockey player and an individual off the ice. This was proven again as he was also selected as the Lloydminster Bobcats Academic Athlete of the year at the teams year end awards.
Head coach and general manager Nigel Dube said about Leslie, “Our athletes have an expectation to excel on ice, in the classroom and in the community, Lester has really grown in all those areas through the season. As a 16 year old rookie to balance a hockey schedule, a full academic class schedule and to be an important member of our community speaks to the type of individual that he is. We are excited about the leadership he will bring to our organization moving forward.”
Jayven will be rewarded by Cliff Rose for Clothes with a certificate for a new suit. Dave Schneider and the family at CRFC are the official clothing suppliers of the Lloydminster Bobcats coaching staff and have kept them looking sharp all season long. They’ve done the same for each of our players who have been rewarded as Community Ambassadors through the season.
