With their backs against the wall, the Lloydminster Bobcats (0-2-0) are down to their final life tonight when they host the Whitecourt Wolverines (2-0-0). Playing Game #3 of their best of five series, and trailing the series 2-0, the Bobcats must win tonight if they wish to keep their season alive. Tonight’s contest can be heard starting at 7:15 with Lloydminster Bobcats Playoff Hockey on Real Country 95.9.
Heading In: Bobcats Leave Whitecourt Empty-Handed
Playing the first two games of their best of five AJHL North Division Quarter-Final series in Whitecourt Thursday and Friday, the Bobcats were unable to get much generated inside the Scott Safety Centre. After falling behind 3-0 in Game #1, the Cats clawed back within 3-2, before ultimately falling 4-2. Then in Game #2, the Wolverines took an early lead and never looked back in a 4-0 victory. Zach Kaiser and Tucker Scantlebury have recorded the two Bobcat’s playoff goals thus far.
Head to Head
It has been all about home-ice advantage in the season series between the Lloydminster Bobcats and Whitecourt Wolverines. The two teams split their six games in the regular season with each team winning all three times in their home barn. That trend then quickly carried over in to the playoff series with the Wolverines holding serve during games one and two at the Scott Safety Centre. If that Cats want to force a Game #4, they’ll need to keep that trend alive and well tonight at the Civic.
