RECAP: Bobcats Fall to Bandits in Last Home Game of 2016

The Brooks Bandits extended their winning streak to nine games with a dominant 7-0 win over the Lloydminster Bobcats at the Civic Centre on Saturday night.

Brooks scored a pair in the first, and got things started with a shorthanded marker from Parker Foo just six seconds into the second period to take a lot of the life out of the Bobcats before adding another power play marker in the second, and notched another three goals in the third period to make it a 7-0 final.

From a Bobcats perspective, there wasn't much to choose from as Mitchel Benson turned aside all 17 shots turned his way for his third shutout of the season in the Bandits crease. At the other end, Austin McGrath had 36 saves on 43 shots, facing one of the highest scoring teams in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Nic Hamre, Tyler Carangelo, Foo, Josh McKechney, Parker Huebner, Tyrell Mappin, and Arnaud Vachon did the scoring for the Bandits, and 13 players got on the scoreboard overall.

The Bobcats will have an opportunity to get back in the win coluimn tomorrow afternoon as they head to Drumheller to take on the Dragons. Puck drops at 2:00, and pregame will get underway on Real Country 95.9 at 1:45PM.
