With the 2018/19 regular season just a few weeks away, the Lloydminster Bobcats have taken another step towards rounding out their roster.
The Bobcats have made a trade with the rival Bonnyville Pontiacs to acquire 2000-born defenceman Ryley Hogan for Future Considerations.
Hogan, who completed his rookie year with the Yaks this past season, tallied two goals and nine assists from the blue line.
Bobcats Head Coach and GM Travis Clayton says he’s looking forward to working with the 6’0”, 181lbs defenceman.
“Getting the chance to see Hogan play last year, we know that we’re getting a solid defenceman who still has multiple years left in this league,” he said. “We’re really excited about how our defensive core is looking, and it just got a little more exciting with Ryley now on our side.”
The Sherwood Park native will be joining a defensive core that already includes the likes of returning players Reid Irwin and Zach Ziegler, along with recent signing Mason Waite.
The Bobcats will begin the regular season on September 14th with a visit to Spruce Grove, before hosting the Saints September 15th in the home opener.
