As the Lloydminster Bobcats continue to prepare their roster for the 2017-18 AJHL Regular Season, the team has made a trade.
Lloydminster sent ’98 forward Matthew Jones to the SJHL’s Weyburn Red Wings for Future Considerations.
Jones, a product of Dinsmore, Saskatchewan, spent the past season with the Bobcats recording six goals and two assists over 43 regular season games.
“Matt is a great kid and a strong competitor,” said Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Travis Clayton. “However, we started to run out of roster spots and felt it was best for Matt to get the chance to compete in Weyburn. I want to thank Matt for the effort and dedication he brought to the Bobcats during his time here.”
The Bobcats will begin their 2017-18 regular season in three days when they host the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
