Addition: Oakley McIlwain (2005/D)
The Lloydminster Bobcats have acquired local defenseman Oakley McIlwain from the Humboldt Broncos in exchange for Morgan Hackman, CJHL rights to Jack Birch and Carson Olson.
“We are excited to add Oakley to our defensive group. He brings a lot of talent and experience, and he’s a kid we’ve watched grow up for years. This is a deal we’ve been trying to get done since last season — at times we were close, and at times we were far apart — so it’s exciting to finally get it done and have Oak here.
We’re not a league with draft picks or protected lists, so we had to get creative to make this deal work, and that meant giving up a good player in Morgan,” said Bobcats General Manager Nigel Dube.
