Bobcats Add Depth on Blueline

Bobcats Head Coach and GM Travis Clayton has announced today the team has acquired 18-year-old defenceman Zach Sherburne from the Estevan Bruins in exchange for future considerations.

Sherburne is no stranger to the AJHL, having played 37 games for the Drayton Valley Thunder from 2014-2016. During his time in Drayton Valley, Sherburne picked up 3 points.

This season in Estevan it seems the 6’2”, 206-pound blueliner has found his scoring touch, potting a goal and four assists for five points in 13 games.

“We are excited to have Zach join the team. His experience in Junior A will be a welcome addition,” said Clayton. “He is coming from a team that has had some success this season in the SJHL so we are expecting that winning pedigree will carry over. He has been relied upon to play big minutes on Estevan’s powerplay and will be asked to do the same here.”

The Bobcats would like to welcome Sherburne and his family to the city of Lloydminster. Fans can catch Bobcats in action again on November 9th when the team plays host to the Whitecourt Wolverines.
