Nigel Dube took over the Lloydminster Bobcats organization at the end of November 2018, assuming the dual role of Head Coach and General Manager during a critical period in the club’s history. Upon arrival, Dubé initiated a complete rebuild of the program both on and off the ice, with a clear mandate to restore the standard of Bobcats hockey.
The 2019 offseason marked a full organizational reset, with just one player returning from the previous season’s roster. From that point forward, Dube led the rebuild through strategic recruiting, development-focused roster construction, and the establishment of a culture rooted in accountability, work ethic, and long-term growth. Since the rebuild, the Bobcats have compiled a regular season record of 139-114-6-10, earning multiple postseason appearances and re-establishing the organization as a competitive presence in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
Following the 2022–23 season, Dube transitioned into the role of General Manager, where he continued to oversee all hockey operations while expanding his leadership off the ice. His responsibilities include roster management, business operations, player skill development and mentorship, and oversight of food and beverage services, reflecting a comprehensive approach to organizational leadership.
Highly familiar with the AJHL, Dube brings championship experience from every level of the game. As a player, he was a member of the 2007–08 Camrose Kodiaks, capturing the AJHL Championship, Doyle Cup Championship, and a silver medal at the 2008 RBC National Junior A Championship. He later went on to win an ACHA National Championship with the Minot State Beavers before beginning his coaching career in the North American Hockey League.
Internationally, Dube has earned both a gold medal and a bronze medal as Director of Operations with Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge, and has also coached internationally, further broadening his hockey résumé.
Dube holds a master’s degree in Sports Management, along with a double major in Kinesiology and Physical Education with a minor in Coaching Theory. Deeply committed to community involvement, he resides full-time in the Border City with his wife Amy and their son Brooks.
