Bobcats Prospects Camp

Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats next step in building the 2019-20 team will take place April 12-14 at the Civic Centennial Center as they host the annual prospects camp.
Those who follow the Bobcats’ camps will see some changes such as a smaller camp with a five team maximum and the focus solely on finding the right players suited to the new Bobcats’ philosophies and intentions.  Players and families will be introduced to the value system and tactical plan on Friday afternoon with a presentation discussing on ice and off ice expectations and the need for responsibility and accountability. “Improving player performance, refining skills and escalating players to the next level is very important to the player.  Focusing on cohesive team play, a positive dressing room experience and the ability to contribute in many ways to the community are equally important,” says HC/GM Nigel Dube.

Dube comments Lloydminster as a city truthfully supports hockey minor through junior and has lots to offer as a city.  The Bobcats organization is renewing its commitment to the players and community, building on a foundation for success on and off ice.  A junior hockey team is a valuable resource for the city.  On Saturday afternoon families and players are invited to join a bus tour of the city and facilities getting a glimpse of what is available for education and training opportunities, possibilities for employment and local attractions.

Prospects will be coming to Lloydminster from across western Canada and the United States.  Coach Dube, Director of Player Personnel Andrew Gilbert and Director of U.S. Scouting Cory Lonke have been working hard to put together a very diverse recruitment class and are looking forward to seeing the group in a competitive camp field.  Friday morning starts with practices followed by games for the remainder of the weekend.  The public is invited to come and check out future prospects, for fans it is a free weekend long event featuring very talented elite athletes and many local products.

For players, families, and fans with inquiries about camp, please send an email to Bobcats HC/GM Nigel Dube at nigel@lloydminsterbobcats.com.   Dube and the Board of Directors are committed to putting a competitive product on the ice providing entertainment in every contest and putting together a group who can contribute in many ways to the community of Lloydminster.  Positions in staffing are being filled with the same high standards as expected of players  creating a team highly respected in the city and league.
