Bobcats Sign Local Prospect

Hot on the heels of being awarded the 2016 RBC Cup, The Lloydminster Jr. “A” Bobcats are pleased and proud to announce the signing of forward Mason Shaw. A Lloydminster product, who spent this past season playing for the Midget AAA Baker Hughes Bobcats. This past season saw Shaw finsih second in league scoring with 17 goals, 33 assists in 31 games, which was good enough to give him the Trevor Linder award honors, awarded to the league's Top Forward. Shaw, 15, is also a Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) Bantam Draft Pick from 2013, where he went 32nd overall in the 2nd round. Not only was Shaw a 1st Team All-Star in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League, he was a vital part in winning gold for Team Alberta at the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup.  

Bobcats GM/Coach Garry VanHereweghe is estatic to have Mason committed to the Bobcat Organization. “Mason is a player that has excelled at every level of hockey he has played. He has a tremendous amount of skill and ability and combined with his genuine consistent work ethic and hockey sense, will be an asset to the Bobcat Organization both on and off the ice. The Bobcats look forward to working closely with Mason and developing him as he strives to move forward in his already successful hockey career.”
