The Bobcats visited the University of North Dakota this past weekend thanks to flights provided by Courtesy Air. The team took in two Division 1 NCAA hockey games as well getting a chance to tour the campus.
Bobcats departed on Friday morning from Lloydminster Airport and embarked on their journey to Grand Forks, North Dakota. From there the team experienced some campus life and food before taking their seats at the Ralph Engelstad Arena to watch the Fighting Sioux take on Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. UND beat Minnesota-Duluth 4-2.
On Saturday the team got an all access tour of the state of the art arena, and UND facilities, and once again taking in another game at the Ralph Engelstad Arena but this time with Minnesota-Duluth beating UND 6-3.
“The entire trip and the opportunity to watch two of the elite NCAA Division 1 teams compete against each other was a tremendous opportunity for both the Bobcat players and coaches alike. The skill and compete level of the players on both teams was a definite eye opener. The energy level both on and off the ice was totally overwhelming to experience,” GM/Coach Garry VanHereweghe said.
Bobcats would like to thank Courtesy Air for providing the flights, as well as the University of North Dakota for their hospitality.
