Lloydminster Bobcats Name Matt Brassard Head Coach
Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats are proud to announce the promotion of Matt Brassard to Head Coach.
Brassard, who has been an integral part of the organization, entering his third season with the Bobcats steps into the role after demonstrating a strong commitment to player development, team culture, and the values that define the Bobcats identity. His work behind the bench and connection with players have made a lasting impact, earning the trust of both the organization and the locker room.
“I am thrilled and extremely grateful for the opportunity to be head coach. The past 2 years being with this organization has taught me so much. What this team means to the fans and community of Lloydminster has been evident to me from day 1 of being here. I can’t wait to work with these players and build a culture here that every kid wants to be a part of going forward. I want a group that can’t wait to come to the rink every day to work and win for each other to ultimately bring a championship to Lloydminster” stated Brassard.
Brassard’s coaching approach focuses on accountability, structure, and creating an environment where players can succeed both on and off the ice. His familiarity with the organization ensures continuity as the team continues to build toward sustained success in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The organization would also like to thank Eric Labrosse, who has resigned from his position to pursue professional and collegiate coaching opportunities. Labrosse spent the previous two seasons with Northern Manitoba, one season with the Moncton Wildcats, and one season with the Bobcats.
