Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats are thrilled to announce the addition of Jeff Woywitka to the coaching staff as Associate and Skills Coach! Woywitka, a native of Vermilion, Alberta is set to join the Bobcats following the Christmas break.
Woywitka spent the last five seasons with the Sherwood Park Crusaders splitting time as Head Coach and Assistant Coach. Prior to his time there he was a veteran to over 600 pro hockey games including 278 in the National Hockey League between the St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars, and New York Rangers.
“We are very excited to welcome Jeff’s wealth of playing and coaching experience and knowledge to our staff following the break” stated Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Nigel Dube. The Bobcats will begin their second half of the season on December 29th at home against the Bonnyville Pontiacs, it will be a busy home schedule in the second half for the Cats who have already played 19 of their games on the road. The last time the Bobcats played two consecutive games at home dates back to November 13th weekend. “As an organization we want to continue to move our program forward both and off the ice, adding Jeff to our staff is us taking another step forward in our plan. He has developed some of the best to come out of the AJHL and we look forward to him working with our players” added Dube. The Bobcat lineup had a lot of bumps in the road with sickness and injury in the first half to go along with the heavy road schedule, the second half will see the Cats back at the Civic including 9 of the teams last 12 games. “We are gearing up for a big second half and Jeff is a start to it; we will be playing more in the Civic and we need to make every game count and get the most out of our group” concluded Dube.
The Lloydminster Bobcats would like to welcome Jeff and the Woywitka family to the Border City. Tickets to December 29th are available in advance at Tait’s Liquor and Payless Carwash or will be available at the door.
