Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats annual event – Flavor Festival has been paused for spring of 2025 due to facilities being unavailable. Flavor Festival, which had begun in the spring of 2023, became one of the Lloydminster Bobcats fundraising events quickly and a popular one at that. With significant growth from the first year to second year it was expected for year three to be the biggest yet, but it will have to wait until 2026 as the Centennial Civic Centre is not available for floor bookings during the time Flavor Festival is held. With the uniqueness of Lloydminster being a Border City and the liquor vendors being from Saskatchewan, moving it to another facility is just not that easy.
“Flavor Festival is like being on tour, you have a certain window where the majority of them are held across Saskatchewan in the Spring and we had worked our way into major vendors quickly, so it’s just not as simple as picking a different month or weekend” commented Bobcats General Manager Nigel Dube. The event was on pace to double from the first year, both in vendors and attendees’ “it was a major event for us with sponsorships, vendors, and attendees. We are not able to move it across the street because of the differences in Saskatchewan and Alberta operations in the Border City, we will look forward to planning and bringing the event back in 2026!” added Dube.
The event will go into a ‘paused’ state for 2025 with a different venue expected in the spring of 2026. The Lloydminster Bobcats would like to thank the continued support of sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and attendees for making the first two years an overwhelming success.
