The Lloydminster Bobcats have signed ’97 goaltender Brandon Kegler following his release from the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
Kegler was one of three goaltenders in Hurricanes camp this pre-season after spending the bulk of last season with the Leduc Midget AAA Oil Kings. In 15 games with Leduc last year, Kegler posted a 3.80 goals against average (GAA) and a 0.903 save percentage (SPct). This preseason, Kegler appeared in two games with the Hurricanes, registering a 1.48 GAA to go with a .951 SPct.
Following the acquisition, the Bobcats now have three goaltenders on their roster with Kegler joining Alex Leclerc and Pierce Diamond.
The Bobcats four game home stand continues this weekend with games on Friday night against Whitecourt and Saturday against Grande Prairie.
