The Brooks Bandits pulled away with three goals in the second period en route to a 7-0 victory over the Lloydminster Bobcats at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks, AB on Friday night.
After a tightly contested first period in which the Bandits outshot the Bobcats 12-10 but outscored the visitors 2-0, Nic Hamre finished a breakaway just over seven minutes into the middle frame to extend the Brooks lead to 3-0, starting a flood of offense.
Nathan Plessis and Josh McKechney got in on the scoring as well for the Bandits in the second period as they took a 5-0 lead into the second intermission after outshooting the Bobcats 24-7 in the second period.
The third was much the same as the Bandits outshot the Bobcats 16-7 and got goals from Arnaud Vachon and Parker Foo.
Overall, Bobcats goaltender Jeremy Kelleway faced a barrage of 52 shots on the night, while Alex Horawski kept a clean slate on 23 shots in the Brooks net.
