Bobcats Acquire Hyland

Lloydminster Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager, Travis Clayton, is pleased to announce the team has acquired (’98) forward Brayden Hyland from the Spruce Grove Saints; completing the Eric Benshadle trade from August 23rd.

“We're very excited about this addition of another highly skilled young forward. He was able to produce at the midget level with 47 goals over the past two seasons and we expect him to be a big part of our team moving forward,” said Clayton.

Hyland had 39 assists to go along with his 47 goals, totalling 86 points in just 67 games for the Edmonton Midget AAA Canadians. The 5'10'', 175 pound Edmonton Alberta native has played in four AJHL games with Spruce Grove, scoring two goals.

Upon being traded, Hyland commented, “I'm definitely excited. It's a new opportunity for me to be moving away from home for the first time. I was a little stunned as I haven't been through this (being traded) before, but like I said, it is a new opportunity and I am excited to come to Lloydminster.”

You can see Hyland and the rest of the Bobcats in action tonight when they play host to the Sherwood Park Crusaders. For tickets, head to tickets.lloydminsterbobcats.ca or call the Bobcats office at 780-871-0900
