The Lloydminster Bobcats are all set to hit the ice tomorrow for their main camp! The 2013-14 main camp goes from Aug. 22nd to 25th at the Centennial Civic Centre.
Returning and prospective players will compete this weekend in hopes of making the Bobcats line-up for opening night on September 6th. The camp begins tomorrow with fitness testing at Cujo Conditioning, and on-ice action takes place Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon.
Capping off the camp on Sunday afternoon will be the first-ever Bobcats Media Cup Intersquad Game. Sports reporters from Newcap TV, Lloyd FM, and Meridian Booster will coach Team Orange as they face-off Team Black led by sports reporters from The Goat and The Source to determine who wins the championship! Game time for this top-40 game is set for 2:30 PM, and is open to the public at no charge.
The Bobcats play a total of five exhibition games this year, including two home contests against Bonnyville on Aug. 26 and Sherwood Park on Aug. 30. The team will also be playing a neutral site game in Wainwright for the second consecutive year on Aug. 31, this time facing off against the Drumheller Dragons.
The Bobcats will then host the Bonnyville Pontiacs on Friday, Sept. 6 for the team’s regular season home opener.
