Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats are thrilled to announce the 2021 – 22 leadership group before the season starts which includes Chad MacLean being named Captain.
MacLean will don the “C” while entering his third season with the Lloydminster Bobcats after being an Assistant Captain last season. The Calgary, AB native will be joined by Tegan Skehar, Ben Bygrove, Tyson Kowaluk, Jayven Leslie, and Tanner Fincaryk as alternate captains.
MacLean is a veteran of the Alberta Junior Hockey league and has played in 112 games with 42 points and 275 penalty minutes. In the 2019-20 season he posted 13 goals and 13 assists while playing in 56 games.
Skehar is a native of Chestermere, AB and enters his third season with the Bobcats, last season he was named an Assistant Captain for the club. In the 2019-20 season he played in 55 games and posted 2 goals and 9 assists.
Bygrove is a native of Lloydminster, AB and enters his third full season with the Bobcats. Bygrove began his junior career with the organization at the end of the 2018-19 season after finishing his U18 season.
Leslie is also a native of Lloydminster, AB and enters his third full season with the Bobcats. Like Bygrove, Leslie began his career with the Bobcats at the end of the 2018-19 season where he appeared in 10 games.
Koawluk is a native of St. Albert and enters his third season with the Bobcats. In the full 2019-20 season Kowaluk played in 49 games and registered 2 goals and 7 assists.
Fincaryk who calls Calahoo, AB home was acquired this off season from the Sherwood Park Crusaders. In 125 games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League Fincaryk posted 22 goals and 28 assists.
“We are very excited with our leadership group, we have seen so much growth in our leaders through their time in Lloydminster. Chad has really stepped up on and off the ice with our group and in the community. All of these gentlemen know where we have come from and where our plan is taking us, they will be at the helm for it this season!” stated Bobcats General Manager and Head Coach Nigel Dube.
The Bobcats home opener will be on Saturday, September 18th at the Civic Centre with a 7:30PM puck drop. Tickets and merchandise will be available at the Craftex – Bobcats Merchandise Store on Thursday from 5-7PM located at the Civic!
