Cats Land Local Jaxan Kaluski

Coach Gord Thibodeau is pleased to announce that the Bobcats have signed local prospect Jaxan Kaluski of the Lloydminster U-16 Rohan Rage. At 5’11 and 185 pounds, Kaluski comes to the Bobcats after collecting 19 goals and 10 assists for 29 points in 32 games with the Rage in 2014-15. The 1999-born Lloydminster forward also played in the 2013-14 Alberta Cup with the Northeast Flyers during his season with the Lloydminster Bantam AAA Heat.

Thibodeau on his latest signing, “Jaxan is a skilled forward with a strong compete level. We feel that Jaxan will be a solid contributor to our organization for many years to come. Jaxan has had a strong minor hockey career in Lloydminster, and he will quickly become a fan-favourite with his skill, work-ethic and tenacity.”

Kaluski on joining his hometown team, “I grew up watching the Bobcats and to have the opportunity to sign and play here is very exciting and such an honour.”

As a local player, Kaluski has already begun giving back to the community and fans that helped develop him. Kaluski joins a presitigious list of local players who have worn their hometown junior team’s jersey. That list includes numerous NHL players and prospets including Wade Redden, Scott Hartnell, David Dziurzynski, and Brandon Baddock, and most recently the 2014-15 AJHL Defenceman Of The Year Linden Springer.

Kaluski becomes the third recruit in what is an important offseason for the Bobcats, who are set to compete as the host team for Hockey Canada’s National Junior A Championship, the RBC Cup, from May 14 – 22nd in Lloydminster.
