‘Cats Move 2 On Cut Down Day

The Lloydminster Bobcats were busy yesterday, which saw them involved in 2 trades prior to the December 1st cut down where teams are required to get down to 25 cards including all active roster players.

The ‘Cats were involved in a 3 way deal involving the Drayton Valley Thunder and the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). This resulted in Bobcats Forward Eric Therrien being the player transferred to the Drayton Valley Thunder and the Bobcats receiving Allan MacPherson. MacPherson is an 18 year old Defencemen from Calgary, who spent his 17 year old season with the Grand Prairie Storm (AJHL) and parts of this year as well. Therrien who was in his 3rd year with the team, was a Notre Dame recruit from Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan. He suited up for 145 games as a Bobcat, recording 24 goals, 36 assists for 60 points along with 184 penalty minutes.

The other trade saw the team move 20 year old Defencemen Tyler Kunz to the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for 1995 born Forward Taylor Allan and future considerations (players for 2015-16 season).
Allan, a 19 year old from Calgary split his 18 year old season with the Okotoks Oilers and the Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL). In 31 games played with Okotoks, Allan produced 5 goals and 15 points before joining Cowichan for 24 games, scoring 8 goals and 11 points. This year with Prince George, Allan played in 22 games recording 2 goals and 5 points. Kunz, who was in his 3rd year in the AJHL and 2nd with the Bobcats, has played in 142 games recording 21 goals, 36 assists for 57 points.

The Bobcats would like to thank Tyler and Eric for all their time and contributions to the Bobcats Organization and wish them all the best with their new teams.

The Bobcats would also like to welcome Allan MacPherson and Taylor Allan to the Organization!
