After rattling off four straight wins, the Lloydminster Bobcats (15-25-2) now find themselves losers of three straight, a streak they will try to snap tonight when they host the Calgary Mustangs (19-20-4) on Saturday. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. at the Centennial Civic Centre. This will be the second and final inter-division match-up between these two teams, and the first one to take place in Lloydminster. Tonight’s contest can be heard starting at 7:15 with Lloydminster Bobcats Hockey on Real Country 95.9.
Heading In: Home Sweet Home The Lloydminster Bobcats are more than happy to be back at home, where they have been strong all-season long. Despite dropping their last game at the Civic to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, the Bobcats have won 10 of their last 12 home games out-scoring their opponents 40-25 in that span.
Head to Head
The Bobcats and the Mustangs have met only once so far this season, with Calgary come out victorious in that meeting. Taking place on October 26, the Mustangs used a pair of third period goals to take down the Cats 4-2. Former Bobcat and current Mustang Daniel Rybarik had the game-winning goal.
Having scored 13 goals in their three previous games before heading out on the road during the middle of the week, all of a sudden, the Bobcats have been unable to find the back of the net. Lloydminster was shut-out in both mid-week games, losing 3-0 to Whitecourt and 4-0 to Drayton Valley. The Cats have now gone nearly 125 minutes without a goal. They’ll look to turn that around with a little bit of home-cooking tonight.
