‘On Board’ With Courtesy Air

Cats On A Plane – Again!
2012 August 21st

The Lloydminster Jr. A Bobcats are pleased to announce the continuation of their travel agreement with local airline charter Courtesy Air for the 2012-2013 season.
The team will be flying to a total of five games this year, three more times than last season. On Friday, September 14th, the Bobcats will take flight to Grande Prairie for two games against the Storm before returning home late on the evening of Saturday, September 15th. The team then flies to Fort McMurray on Saturday, December 8th for two games against the Oil Barons before flying back  on the afternoon of December 9th. Later that week, on Friday, December 14th, Courtesy Air will fly the team to Grande Prairie for their final road game of the season against the Storm. Fans looking to get in on the action are encouraged to attend the home game prior to each trip, where two seats (including accommodations) will be auctioned off.

“Having recently moved to town, we are constantly looking at creative ways to get involved around town and help the community,” said Courtesy Air President Jackie Fowler. “Given the recent buzz surrounding the team, we feel that this is a great way to help our new favorite team while also getting our name out there in the community.”
The travel agreement with Courtesy Air was originally agreed upon last summer in what was considered to be a historic announcement for both the Bobcats and the AJHL. The team flew to two games in 2011-2012; a 5-2 loss to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on October 23rd, and a 4-2 win over the Grande Prairie Storm on December 30th.

The Bobcats are also pleased to once again be partnered with premier bus company Tibear Coach Lines for transportation to all 24 of the team’s other away games. As part of their partnership with Tibear, the team will be travelling in a 33-passenger luxury bus featuring a Bobcats-themed exterior wrap. “I am excited to work with the Bobcats and be a part of the team once again this upcoming season,” said Tibear Coach Lines owner and team bus driver Dale Winnacott. “It was a lot of fun getting to know the guys last season and I’m looking forward to hanging out with them again this year.”

“We are very excited to have both Courtesy Air and Tibear Coach Lines on board for another season. Jackie and Marty Fowler and their entire team at Courtesy have been tremendous Bobcat supporters over the last year,” said business manager Malcolm Radke, “and we could always depend on Dale and Tibear Coach Lines to get the team to their road games safely and comfortably. For our coaches and players, it is a huge boost to be have such strong transportation partners, and our record away from home last season reflected this.”
