Dean Antos spent three seasons with the Lloydminster Lancers, putting up 269 points in 180 games played from 1984-85 to 1986-87.
Antos then went, along with teammate Darryl Plandowski, to the University of Northern Michigan, where he assumed the role of Captain in his Junior and Senior years, ultimately helping the school to its first and only NCAA Division I Hockey Championship in 1991.
In that championship game, against a Boston University team loaded with future NHLers Shawn McEachern, Tony Amonte, and Keith Tkachuk amongst others, it was Antos and Plandowski connecting on one of the most significant goals in NCAA Ice Hockey history as they sealed the title in triple overtime. Antos joined the Lloyd FM Bobcats broadcast back in late November to discuss his playing career and what has transpired since those days.
