Bobcats Hire Bakke as Assistant Coach

Lloydminster, AB ? The Lloydminster Bobcats are proud to announce the hiring of Brady Bakke as Assistant Coach. Bakke comes to the Bobcats organization after spending two seasons with the St. Albert Raiders in the Alberta Midget Hockey League. The St. Albert Raiders just finished an impressive season in which they won the prestigious Mac?s Tournament, as well advancing to the league finals before falling to the Calgary Buffaloes.

Bakke is very familiar with the path to the AJHL, he captained the 2012 AAA Midget Red Deer Chiefs to their first Telus Cup Championship before moving on to play for the Bonnyville Pontiacs for three seasons. Following his junior career Bakke went on to play in the ACAC for Concordia University before hanging up his playing gear to move into the coaching world. He is moving through the coaching ranks just as he moved through the player ranks.

?We are excited on multiple levels to be adding a person like Brady to our staff, he has worked the last two seasons under Jack Redlick who I have the most respect for, ? said Bobcats? Head Coach & GM Nigel Dube.  “Brady is a student of the game on a daily basis, he believes in the same core values we have installed in our organization, and wants to give back to the players on a daily basis”

Bakke will be moving to Lloydminster during the summer before the Bobcats open training camp in late August. Bakke is excited to be joining the Bobcats and stated, ?I want to thank Nigel and the Bobcats Family for the opportunity to become part of a first-class organization. I look forward to being a part of the community and calling Lloydminster home.?

The Bobcats have made major changes in the organization over the course of the off season. Hiring Bakke rounds out the Cats? coaching staff for the 2019-20 season as Assistant Coach Kris Wiebe is also returning.  Several player signings and transactions, a new performance center opening at the beginning of June, and the completion of dressing room renovations planned for the beginning of July have made for a busy time of preparation.

?It hasn?t been a typical off season for our organization, when we talked about building a foundation for success we needed to put a long task list into action. We have been working around the clock but it is exciting, what is happening and what will result,? added Dube.

The Bobcats organization would like to welcome Brady and his family to the club.  Stay tuned this week as the Cats? will be announcing more player signing?s leading into main camp in August!
