Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats are thrilled to announce the signing of 2004 goaltender Kaiden Kirkwood for the 2022-23 season. Kirkwood, a native of Calgary, AB played last season for the Calgary Buffaloes U18AAA and was an Alberta Elite Hockey League Champion where in 19 games he went 12-6-1 with a .921 save percentage and 2.54 goals against average, he also recorded 2 shutouts.
The 6’2 – 165 pound netminder will be competing for the crease when the season begins in September following the graduation of the Alberta Junior Hockey Leagues Top Goaltender Kolby Thornton. “Kaiden is a very mature and composed goalie in his movements, we are excited about the upside he brings to the net. He was an affiliate player for us this past season and was able to practice with our group and work with our goaltender coach Sheldon Goertzen during that time” stated Bobcats Head Coach and General Manager Nigel Dube.
