GAME DAY: Cats Start Two-Game Road Swing With Stop in Whitecourt

With a new day upon us, the Lloydminster Bobcats (8-33-1) are set to begin a midweek two-game road trip Tuesday night in Whitecourt when they battle the Wolverines (17-24-2) at the Scott Safety Centre. Whitecourt will be going for their third straight win, while the Cats will try and put an end to a five-game slide. All the action can be heard live on Real Country 95.9 beginning at 7:15.

Heading In: Cats Struggle in Loss to Mustangs

It was one of those nights Saturday night at the Civic Centre for the Lloydminster Bobcats. Hosting the Calgary Mustangs, the ‘Stangs jumped out early and did not let up at any point as they rolled to an 11-3 win over the Cats. Calgary scored six times in the first period to set the tone. In the loss, the Bobcats got goals from Logan Bromhead, Jordan Borysiuk and Mason Waite.

Head to Head

Tuesday night will mark the fifth of six meetings this season between the Lloydminster Bobcats and Whitecourt Wolverines. Heading in, the season series is tied up at two games each, with Whitecourt winning the first meetings, the Cats winning the next two, before the Wolverines won the most recent outing on Friday. The two teams will wrap up their season series when the Bobcats wrap up their regular season scheduled on March 2.

Turning the Page

Coming off one of the toughest home losses in a while, the Bobcats will look to put that game directly in the rear-view mirror and try to bounce back in Whitecourt. Although nothing seemed to be working for Lloydminster against the Mustangs, it is a new day and a chance to continue improving. With the recent changes made at the trade deadline, the Cats will now have a chance to have their new roster bond together on the road, and again, continue to lay the foundation of a winning culture.
