Even though the calendar indicates summer, hockey season is upon us!
The Lloydminster Bobcats 2015 Main Camp kicks off on Friday, August 21st and will run through Sunday, August 23rd. The top 40 players will then be invited to the annual Black and Orange game on Monday, August 24th.
The game will give coaches and scouts an opportunity to see prospective players going toe to toe, and will feature local media members behind the benches on each side. The game will be open to the public with free admission, with puck drop set for 7:30PM on Monday night at the Centennial Civic Centre.
Over 45 players will be on the ice all weekend, battling for a roster spot with the RBC Cup hosts. After Monday night's intra-squad matchup, selected players will compete in a total of seven exhibition games this year, including three home dates.
Bonnyville will travel to Lloydminster on Friday, August 28th, Drumheller comes to town on Wednesday, September 2nd, and the SJHL’s Battlefords North Stars will visit on Saturday, September 5th.
Fans will get their first taste of regular season action on Friday, September 11th in Bonnyville, with the Pontiacs returning the following night for the ‘Cats home opener on Saturday, September 12th.
