RELEASE: Bobcats Acquire McCann, Trade Middleton

The Lloydminster Bobcats have announced a pair of trades, including the acquisition of ’97 D Andrew McCann from the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), and the trade of ’98 F Will Middleton to the Flin Flon Bombers of the SJHL.

McCann comes to the Bobcats to complete future considerations owed via an August 12th, 2016 trade that saw F Brett Smythe traded to the Spruce Grove Saints in exchange for G Austin McGrath. Along with McGrath, the Bobcats acquired future considerations owed to the Saints from the Klippers. McCann, a 6’1”, 176 lb defenceman from Calgary, AB, skated in 52 games with Kindersley last season, scoring eight goals to go with 21 assists for 29 points from the blue line. This total ranked 13th across the SJHL in point production amongst defencemen.

Middleton has been traded to the Bombers in exchange for future considerations. The Beausejour, MB native played with the Bobcats as a rookie last season after a successful midget career with the Eastman Selects Midget AAA program, producing 52 points in 44 games in his final season. Last year, Middleton had five goals and two assists for seven points in 48 games played with Lloydminster.

The Bobcats would like to thank Will and his family for their contributions to the organization over the past year.
