Bobcats Sign Noah Smith for 2024-25

Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats are thrilled to announce the signing of defenseman Noah Smith for the 2024-25 season! Smith, a native of Brooks, Alberta currently plays for Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna U18 under the coaching guidance of former National Hockey League all-star Jarome Iginla.

The 2007 born defender stands at 5’11” and currently has 1 goal and 8 assists on the season in 24 games so far. The Bobcats are eager to add Smith to the defensive group next season and see big time potential in his game, “Noah is a player that we have been watching develop through the season. He plays a physical game where he defends hard and is willing to put his body on the line to win hockey games. Also, Noah skates very well which allows him to be first to pucks in the defensive zone and we believe he has an incredibly high ceiling as he continues to round out his game. We are excited to see Noah in the Border City next season!” commented Bobcats Director of Player Personnel Andrew Gilbert.

The Brooks, AB native is excited to grow his game in Lloydminster next season, Smith was excited about the opportunity “I would like to thank the Lloydminster Bobcats organization for the opportunity to be a part of the community for this upcoming season. I am extremely excited and honored to be putting a Lloydminster Bobcats jersey on next season!” Smith has spent the last three seasons in the Rink Academy Program and will be coming back to Alberta for his junior career in Lloydminster, “it is exciting to be adding a player like Noah whose ceiling and potential is so high, having connections to the family for several years in our program we know we are really adding a great family and a young man with amazing character and work ethic!” stated Bobcats General Manager Nigel Dube.

The Lloydminster Bobcats organization would like to welcome Noah and the Smith family to the Border City! The Bobcats will be back in action at the Civic Centre on March 1st and 2nd to round out the regular season before beginning playoffs on March 15th.
